BILLA - Logistic facility

BILLA is also part of REWE Group – significantly presented corporation in the Bulgarian market. For the purposes of 71 chain stores in the Bulgarian market, logistic facility BILLA – Elin Pelin was built. During the construction of the flooring in the logistic facility, together with the Laser Screed, a Spreader – machine for dosed application of surface hardener on the wet concrete was used for the first time. Using this innovative technology, 14.500 m2 internal and 12.500 m2 external concrete flooring with minimum plane tolerance, covering the high requirements of DIN 18202, were built for four weeks.

The requirements against earthquake were prerequisite for reinforcement of the concrete flooring with wire mesh and steel fibres. To avoid the collection of fibres around the reinforcing bars, a concrete with a specific density was needed. Despite the difficulties in the production of the concrete, a sufficient plasticity was achieved, leading to the completion of a high-quality flooring.

The Chemobau technologists prepared a recipe for concrete with air pores, suitable for outdoor areas and specific weather conditions for the region. This concrete is resistant to adverse weather and mechanical loads and is particularly suitable for the movement and maneuvering area of the trucks. With its help the future flooring deformation was prevented, as a result of high temperatures, as it happens with the asphalt. Thus, any further problems during the planning phase were avoided.
